Just Me and Sophia

You can call me a copy cat… but one of my favorite movies of all time is Julie & Julia. If you haven’t seen it yet, WATCH IT! Based on New York author Julie Powell’s blog, she read and fantasized about the life of American cook Julia Child, bought her cookbook Mastering the Art of French Cooking, cooked every single recipe in the book, and blogged about it.

I’ve always been a “fan” of Sophia Loren. Haven’t really watched her films, don’t really know much about her, but always felt I could relate to her because our bodies are similar in shape and we’re passionate about Italian culture. I figured, why not buy her cookbook? Didn’t realize In the Kitchen with Love aka In Cucina con Amore was in Italian… but hey! That’s an excuse to learn Italian right? I read the entire book IN ITALIAN… haven’t cooked one recipe yet… but at the start of COVID quarantine, I thought it would be fun to cook each recipe in the book, as did Julie, and document it on YouTube.
